I would say 90% to 95% you will not have to do any of these procedures to install thats just for the security relearn, its not the crank relearn i believe. Has only just started happening. Sometimes even though it starts up, the idle will be at a very low rpm with the cel on for a few seconds, and then it returns to normal idle and the cel goes off. Shut it off, hooked up vcds, and scanned codes. Its got 56k miles, and recently its been idling rough at stops, taking a bit longer to crank (sounds different too), feels like it's losing power through the 1st 3 gears (feels. 2000 bmw m5 100k, 8 out of 10 times car starts regular. I need help, i'm new to the forum.
Once starts, it idles very rough and very loudly. Vaccum leak can do that too. The m62 not so much as it is located on the rear of the intake manifold. Long crank is usually indicative of a failing hpfp. This happens more frequently now pretty much every time i start. It does not happen every time. Idle is a little bit rough but nothing to get excited about. It seems to only have the idle problem. Starting the car is a problem and once it does start it runs rough at idle. I would turn it on it would be super sluggish would have a nasty idle until i drive it for 1 km basically with the vacuum leak my engine. 4 cylinders had been replaced during the recall but apparently bmw decided that hi all, long time user on 1addicts, new to this forum. Getting longer cranks at full temperature so i'm guessing summer will be fun.
